Gene joined this industry when he was 24. The initial motivation for a career switch was to potentially earn his first pot of gold – which is a common mindset most advisors have, when joining the industry. However, after successfully submitting his first claim for a client who was diagnosed with early lung cancer, his paradigm and mindset shifted. He was able to find a purpose for his work besides merely making a living as a financial consultant.
Gene then started providing corporate lunch-time seminars on topics like CPF Life, Retirement and Estate planning.
Also, as a way to give back to society, he has joined the volunteering group such as Junior Achievement – which provides basic financial education for children in Primary Schools.
With the years of expertise and experience under his belt, he has since taken up a leadership role as an Agency Development Manager in 2020, where he will challenge himself to train and nurture the next generation of commited and responsible advisors.
